Ants Hurdley
Founding Director

A co-founder of Market Pulse, Ants is responsible for IT management of the business. Ants developed many of the operating systems & software in use within Market Pulse and has extensive experience in business & property ownership and management. Ants sold his shareholding in a commercial office supplies business in 1989 to start Market Pulse and remains in the business day-to-day

Chris Jones
Executive Director

A shareholder since 1999, Chris has over 25 years of experience in retail and consumer goods in NZ ,Australia and globally. He has worked for a number of blue chip brands including Cadbury, Eveready, Pacific Brands, Rodney Wayne and Bayleys. With industry experience in retail, franchising and FMCG Chris has an extensive knowledge of developing and managing client specific customer experience and front line performance improvement programs. In his role as Executive Director Chris is focussed on providing leadership to the Market Pulse group, working with our key clients globally and driving the business development effort.

Greg Cate
Chief Executive Officer

Greg joined Market Pulse in 2004 having completed 5 years financial and commercial experience in London. He remains a Chartered Accountant of NZ having qualified in 1998. In London, he worked with “blue-chip” corporate organizations such as the Financial Times and WPP. Specializing in the media industry, Greg’s experience included advertising, media buying, children's television and publishing where he worked closely with Directors and Owners. Greg leads the business affairs of the Group from our Auckland offices with a portfolio including continued business growth and solid commercial practice.

Philip Mercieca
Research Director

A graduate of London University, Philip has over 20 years research experience both in NZ and in the UK. His early background in research was in the fields of political opinion polling and social research. In 1990 he was appointed as a Director of Research International UK. Philip came to New Zealand in 1992 to work for Research International NZ as Client Service Director and subsequently joined Market Pulse in 1999.
Philip is a former Chair of AMRO – the New Zealand Association of Market Research Organizations. As well as managing Market Pulse's market research services, he also has overall responsibility for the Infield (Call Centre) Division.
